Clinic-based services: Combining quality care and affordability
SHN has been running 134 Surjer Hashi Clinics in 54 districts, targeting to serve the low to lower-middle income group, who cannot afford quality health services in the private-sector facilities. Surjer Hashi’s direct beneficiaries are mostly young mothers of reproductive age (15-49) and children (0-5), living mostly in the economically less advanced, semi urban and rural areas. SHN continues to serve the urban low-income group from its clinics and reaches out to the rural areas through its health workers based in hubs and satellite spots. About 30% of this are either poor or very poor, while the rest falls mostly in the lower middle-income group.
