In response to the recent catastrophic fire that swept through the Korail slum, one of Dhaka’s largest informal settlements, Surjer Hashi Network (SHN) organized an Emergency Medical Camp to support the affected community.
The fire, which broke out on the evening of 25 November 2025, caused extensive damage across the densely populated area and left thousands of residents displaced. To address this urgent humanitarian need, SHN conducted a targeted medical outreach at Korail on 27 November.
A dedicated six-member team led the initiative, comprising one medical officer, two nurses, and three volunteers from SHN headquarters. The camp offered medical consultations and basic check-ups. In addition, light snacks were distributed among the beneficiaries during the camp.
