To widen the coverage of free health services to the poor, Surjer Hashi initiated the concept of free health camps in November 2022. The initiative aimed to reach out to a bigger number of poor people with no ability to get consultation from a graduate doctor. In this initiative, SHN’s core belief in inclusivity echoes with the requests from the local government to provide more free services from the clinics to the poor community, as Surjer Hashi used to deliver many years ago under the full financing by the donor.
The free health camps are arranged periodically in clinics and other premises including the premises belonging to the local government.
In limited capacity, the clinics arrange free medicines for common ailments from local donors and distribute among the visiting poor clients.
The initiative is running on the commitment of SHN leadership without any donor support.
