Since March 2020 the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted almost every corner of the world and touched every aspect of life. It has claimed millions of lives, caused local and global economies to stall, changed the way we work and interact with loved ones, and stretched healthcare systems to the limit. The COVID-19 pandemic has generated an unprecedented impact on healthcare systems including the Surjer Hashi Network. Healthcare workers have been placed under considerable strain from increased workloads, organizational changes implemented by health services in response to the pandemic, and serious threat of infection. SHN has been at the frontlines of the COVID response and we are proud of the efforts undertaken to protect staff and patients as service provision continued. Our health care workers are true heroes, and we are deeply grateful to see such dedication, caring and resilience among SHN staff. We are also proud to be an integral part of GoB's national response by supporting its nationwide vaccination program. The first round of vaccination started on 7th August, 2021 and continued through 15th September, 2021, administering a total of 80,926 vaccines from 68 clinics located in 30 districts. SHN will continue this journey of complementing GoB efforts in the months ahead. SHN's mission to "provide high quality, customer oriented and affordable healthcare to all" and its vision to better human lives are exemplified through this contribution to the country's COVID-19 response, and we are proud to be a part of the solution to this global crisis.
